The Overall Brigade - Music with Meaning

The Overall Brigade plays hobo-hillbilly-folk transferred into the 21st century. Their instruments are banjolele, accordion and double bass. The three musicians from Berlin and Cologne bring to life the musical heritage of US-American migrant workers and immigrants performing songs by Joe Hill, T-Bone-Slim or Woody Guthrie as well as punk rock classics and lesser-known or even forgotten songs in both English and German. The Overall Brigade has translated some hobo and IWW (Industrial Workers of the World) songs into German for the very first time. Informative insights given into the history of the songs played and their political contexts make for an entertaining and educational evening.
